They say there’s no substitute for experience – and that is exactly what Wheatley Park students got last Friday afternoon. 👷♀️
Staff organised a range of activities around the school, to allow students to have a go at doing different odd jobs. Although closely supervised, students were able to use their own initiative to find the most efficient ways of carrying out the different tasks.
These were fun based work activities, which the students greatly enjoyed. But they also served to help students to develop their independence skills. Among the range of 21st century skills learned, teamwork, listening and resilience featured prominently. Along with other technical skills, students also checked the tyre pressures on a car. (A very useful road safety skill!) 🚗
