On Thursday 28th November, CCS Victoria Park held their first ever traditional parents’ evening. The school, which caters for children from 6 – 17, held the event so that staff, students and parents could meet face to face. Parents also had the opportunity to talk to specialist teachers, see examples of their children’s work and celebrate their achievements together.
The event ran from 3pm until 5pm, with around 50% of parents attending. They enjoyed hearing positive things about their children, and really liked seeing their work. There were also opportunities to find out future pathways and plans for their child.
Headteacher, Jade Gilchrist, was delighted with the evening saying that, “We are not only making education a positive experience again for our pupils, but we are also restoring our parents’ faith in education.”
All in all, this was a very positive and well attended event – with parents welcoming the opportunity to meet and talk to staff.
