Students at Seacole Park have generously donated gifts for Dunelm’s Delivering Joy campaign.
On Tuesday 10th December, students across all four class groups visited Dunelm and selected gift tags from the store’s Christmas tree – which detailed a child’s age and the presents they would like to receive. Seacole’s learners had the option to donate some of the points they had earned to pay for the gifts, with many choosing to do so.
Seacole student, C C, led the event with support from Mrs Murphy. As a result of Seacole Park’s students’ generosity, a number of gifts were sourced for other children. Those taking part felt a real sense of pride at giving to others. “I feel really happy that children will get some gifts for Christmas out of the points I earned in class, and I would like to do it again next year,” one student commented.
After selecting the tags, the gifts were sourced and then displayed in assembly, ready to be taken back to Dunelm for delivering to their recipients. After seeing how well the event was supported by students, the school has decided to repeat this heartwarming fundraiser again next year.
