Compass Community School Essex is an independent secondary school for boys and girls Y7-Y11 in North Essex. Building relationships with our pupils is key to the therapeutic approach we take here at CCSE. Small pupil numbers, coupled with a high staff ratio, help to create a nurturing environment in which our students can thrive.
Our highly trained and experienced education team work closely with parents, carers, multi-agency professionals, key workers and programme psychologists to holistically support our young people with a wide range of challenging behaviours and experiences. Our curriculum is developmentally sequential, building on prior learning, with high expectations of progress.View Our Prospectus
I am a recent addition to the CCS Essex Team. I have worked for many years in similar environments across the East. Our motivation is to provide high quality, purposeful learning which is appropriate to the needs of each student.
The curriculum is under regular scrutiny to ensure that it is working to enable all to acquire the skills, qualities and academic qualifications necessary for positive outcomes in adult life.
My drive is to make CCS Essex effective as an example of positive teaching and learning. We want all our students to have the confidence, resilience and qualifications to make successful choices in their futures.
Our school is supported by a wider community of Compass Schools which are located across the country.
Our experienced team of Teachers and support staff work tirelessly to ensure the best possible education is provided at all of our schools.See Our Schools

Commitment to success for all
We love our school and we think you will too! Our school has:
developing young people who are responsible, caring and respectful of others, and who have a strong sense of fair-ness and what is ‘right’. We want them to treat others as they would like to be treated themselves and to understand and celebrate diversity and difference.
The school will help our children and young people to develop an inner discipline and will encourage pupils to not just ‘follow the crowd’ – they will make up their own minds and be ready to accept responsibility for what they do. They will grow through making choices and holding to the choices that they have made. They will want to be honest with themselves and with others.
We’d love to talk to you about how we could support a child in your care.
