Tuesday 11th February was Safer Internet Day 2025. CCS Eld Park students marked the day with a series of activities to make them safer on the internet.
This year’s theme was “Too good to be true” and focussed on becoming vigilant for scammers and online fraudsters.
All Eld Park students took part in the day. The primary cohort enjoyed a live lesson on the BBC with hundreds of other students around the country. They also enjoyed participating in “Scam Smashers” – a game where children need to use their detective skills to spot scams and solve online safety problems.
They did an amazing job at outsmarting the digital tricksters to protect their personal information. They were then encouraged to discuss and respond to online safety issues, to help them navigate the digital world with confidence.
Eld Park’s KS4 cohort spent time discussing sextortion and how the perpetrator can use this for financial gain. The students then discussed the services to reach out to if they feel they could potentially be a victim of this.
The students greatly enjoyed the day and are now far better equipped to protect themselves when navigating the digital world.
