Preparations are well underway for the September launch of CCS Redwood Park, a new SEND school in Loughton, Milton Keynes. The provision, which has already generated strong interest from families and local authorities, will cater for up to 90 children aged 7 to 19 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Redwood Park is part of the Compass Community Schools group, known for its therapeutic, child-centred approach. Learners will be taught in small class groups of up to six, with access to a multi-disciplinary team and tailored support plans.
Each year group will be based in its own dedicated building, creating smaller learning communities within a single campus. The personalised curriculum will blend academic subjects, vocational pathways and therapeutic input – including animal-led therapies and four bespoke learning routes: Seedlings, Sprouts, Branches and Established.
Executive Headteacher Charlotte Fernandes is looking forward to the school’s opening. “We are incredibly proud of what Redwood Park will offer. Our aim is to support each child’s journey, so they feel safe, understood and ready to thrive.”
Applications for September are open and the school continues to welcome enquiries from interested families.
