CCS Redwood Park were thrilled to receive a heartfelt donation this week from the local chapter of Project Linus UK. This consisted of 18 handmade quilts, each stitched with care and compassion.
Ten of the quilts are lap-sized and will soon be transformed into weighted lap pads to support lunchtime regulation for learners. The remaining eight have been placed in therapy rooms across the site, where they bring an immediate sense of comfort.
Project Linus is a volunteer-led charity that provides quilts and blankets to children who would benefit from extra comfort. Their mission is to offer a sense of security and hope through handmade gifts. This sits closely with the values of Compass Community Schools, who continually seek new ways of improving the environment of their learners.
The school is very grateful to the volunteers at Project Linus for thinking of their young people and taking the time to create such thoughtful items. These quilts represent a powerful act of kindness and care from the wider community.
The delivery created a real buzz on campus, and staff have already begun planning how to incorporate the quilts into wellbeing sessions and therapeutic activities. Itās uplifting to know that others are willing to contribute so generously to the nurturing environment Redwood Park aims to provide.
