Mental Health Awareness Week 2025: The Power of Community

Mental Health Awareness Week takes place from 12th – 18th May, with this year’s theme – Community – shining a light on the vital role social connection plays in supporting mental wellbeing.

At Compass Community Schools, we understand how important it is to look after each other’s mental health. That’s why we work hard to create environments where everyone feels seen, heard and valued. Whether it’s a quiet moment of support or an encouraging word, small acts of kindness can make a world of difference.

This year’s focus encourages us to think about what it means to belong – and how we can each play a part in building a community that cares. Positive mental health isn’t just about individual resilience; it’s also about the relationships and trust we build together. By fostering safety, consistency and respect across our schools, we lay the foundation for young people to feel secure and thrive.

The Mental Health Foundation, who lead the campaign, remind us that healthy communities don’t just happen – they are built through awareness, empathy and action. And when we stand together to reduce stigma, prioritise wellbeing and support one another, we create the kind of nurturing environments that allow every student to flourish.

As part of our commitment to trauma-informed practice and inclusive learning, Compass Community Schools continue to champion the wellbeing of every child in our care. Because when mental health is a shared priority, we all benefit.
