Staff and students at CCS Hampshire Hop Pickers enjoyed a fantastic trip to Marwell Zoo – as a fun way of studying science! 🔬
The visit took place in early October, with students using the opportunity to investigate areas of biological and environmental science. These included food chains, natural habitats and climates.
Although the main purpose of the day was science based, students still found time to enjoy being together, seeing the animals and soaking up the atmosphere of one of the country’s leading zoological parks. (Among its many achievements, Marwell is known for its thought leadership in conservation.)
After seeing the many attractions at the zoo, students reported particularly enjoying the giraffes and rhinos.
The success of this trip means that it is likely to happen again as an annual event – with the possibility of GCSE art students making an extra visit to do some life drawing of the animals.
