🧪 Explore Class Investigate the Elements at Magna Science Adventure Centre

CCS Seacole Park’s Explore class recently enjoyed an inspiring visit to Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham. The visit supported their learning within the science curriculum and gave learners an opportunity to deepen their understanding of key concepts. Learners investigated the four elements—air, earth, fire and water—and were excited to discover how each one powers and shapes the world around us.

Led by Mr Hood, the trip gave learners a rare chance to take part in real scientific experiments. From turbines powered by air, to fire melting metal, to water generating electricity, the hands-on activities brought abstract science concepts to life in exciting and accessible ways. Learners also explored how energy can be harnessed from the earth and observed how a traditional steelworks functioned.

The experience sparked enthusiasm and curiosity throughout the day. “This is the best trip ever,” one learner commented. Another added, “I understand how wind powers things.”

The trip clearly left a strong impression—staff and learners alike are already hoping for a return visit. As a day full of curiosity, experimentation and learning, it was a shining example of what science education at Compass Community Schools can offer.
