CCS Seacole Park recently welcomed some very special visitors, thanks to a hands-on animal therapy session arranged by Miss Murphy.
Furry Friends Animal Therapy brought in an exciting selection of creatures for learners to meet, including a snake, tortoise, bearded dragon, snails, skinny pigs, sugar gliders, hedgehogs and a Flemish Giant rabbit. Everyone had the chance to interact with the animalsāsome learners were keen to hold each one, while others chose to gently stroke or observe. The snake was a surprise favourite among both learners and staff, while the enormous rabbit stole the show.
The session had a real impact. Learners responded with warmth and care, showing gentleness, curiosity and plenty of excitement. Staff were proud to see the way children listened to instructions and showed such kindness towards the animals.
Since the visit, learners have been full of questions about the different species they encounteredāand asking when Furry Friends might return.
It was an uplifting afternoon that brought smiles across the school. With such strong engagement from learners, another visit is definitely on the cards. Many thanks to Furry Friends.
