At CCS Fen Park, Friday rewards are a valued part of the week that our learners genuinely look forward to. These carefully planned experiences bring together fun, structure, and opportunities to develop life skills in everyday settings.
On a recent Friday, some of our learners enjoyed a trip to the local shop, each with Ā£5 to spend. This outing encouraged them to apply their maths skills in a practical way. Pupils were supported to add up the cost of their chosen items, manage their budget, and make independent spending decisions.
The group then visited Starbucks, where they ordered their own drinks and snacks before sitting down to enjoy them together. For many, it was a new experience. Being in a cafƩ environment gave them the chance to practise social communication, build confidence, and enjoy positive interaction in a relaxed, public setting.
Every Friday reward trip is planned with purpose. Whether it involves using money, navigating a shop, or ordering from a menu, these activities are designed to help pupils develop important everyday skills in a real-world context.
These moments create memories, boost self-esteem, and give learners a sense of achievement outside the classroom.
