Food Technology GCSE at Thornebrook

A student at CCS Lincolnshire Thornebrook made Baklava in a food technology lesson, as a part of his GCSE studies.

L produced the delicious delicacy in Thornebrook’s on-site school kitchen, using nuts, honey and filo pastry. The nuts and honey were mixed, before being placed between layers of filo pastry (a very light pastry, consisting of many thin layers). After the top layer was brushed with sugar water, the Baclava was then baked in the oven for around 1 hour 20 minutes.

The dish turned out very well. Once cooled, it was cut into diamond shapes and tasted! L now plans to develop his cooking skills by trying new dishes for his food technology GCSE.
