Learners and staff at CCS Fen Park have reached an exciting milestone in their environmental journeyāearning the Gold Award in the Woodland Trustās Green Tree Schools scheme.
This marks a remarkable progression for the school, which first achieved Bronze, then Silver, through a series of hands-on activities that promote sustainability, outdoor learning, and a deeper connection to the natural world. Now, with Gold secured, Fen Park continues to show how environmental education can be both engaging and empowering.
To gain Bronze, learners planted trees and created a nature trail on the school grounds. As they worked towards Silver, they took part in a wider range of activities, earning points for projects linked to recycling, wildlife exploration and environmental awareness.
Securing Gold has involved even more ambitious projects. Learners have built habitats, studied woodland ecosystems, and deepened their understanding of biodiversity. These projects are woven through the school day, helping to bring sustainability into everyday learning.
The Woodland Trustās award scheme is designed to support schools in embedding environmental values across the curriculum. It aligns closely with Compass Community Schoolsā own ethosābuilding confidence, curiosity and pride in every learner.
Congratulations to everyone at CCS Fen Park for this fantastic achievement. Your commitment to protecting and understanding the environment is something to be proud ofāand weāre excited to see what you do next on your journey to Platinum.
