🌟 Cooking Up Success at CCS Hemsworth

At CCS Hemsworth, a Year 10 learner has been showcasing impressive creativity and skill in cooking. Recent dishes—a tangy lemon drizzle cake, macarons and a rich New York-style vanilla cheesecake—have earned plenty of praise from staff and peers. Both bakes were enjoyed by all who had the chance to try them.

Culinary lessons have clearly become a space for growth and experimentation. With each new recipe, there’s been growing confidence and care in the kitchen—qualities that are shining through in every dish.

In addition to culinary progress, this learner has taken a thoughtful approach to Active Citizenship. A plan is now in place to collect food donations for those experiencing homelessness. This is a cause close to his heart, and there’s a clear wish to inspire others to get involved. The message is simple but powerful: with Christmas approaching, now is the perfect time to support local charities by donating a few extra items where possible.

Staff at CCS Hemsworth have praised the learner’s determination and compassion. There’s real pride in seeing someone take ownership of both skill development and social responsibility.

It’s encouraging to see such positive steps being taken—both in the kitchen and in the community.
