Compass Community School Seacole Park have just received their latest OFSTED report.
Inspectors visited the school from 12th – 14th November and looked closely at the many ways in which Seacole Park helps young people to succeed in education. Over the course of their investigations, the inspection team identified many excellent characteristics of the school’s practice. Central to these were the staff’s commitment to creating the best possible learning environment for their students.
Reporting that, “Pupils genuinely enjoy the company of the adults who work here. As a result, relationships are warm, nurturing and built on trust,” reflected the positive culture, around which Seacole Park’s success is built.
Recognising the school’s success, OFSTED awarded them the outstanding grade for both behaviour and attitudes, and personal development. The report went on to acknowledge that Seacole Park’s “…supportive culture has a highly positive impact in helping pupils to manage their behaviour.” And that, “The school provides pupils with an exceptional set of experiences to develop their talents and interests. These activities build confidence, independence and resilience.”
Headteacher, Sarah Kerwin, is delighted with OFSTED’s assessment, saying, “We are all very proud of our school’s achievements. This result reflects the commitment of our staff to changing the life chances of the young people who come to Seacole Park. But it equally reflects the determination of our students to re-discover their love of learning and the consistent hard work that this takes. Well done to everyone on this fantastic result!”
The report contained many positive acknowledgements of the school’s excellent ongoing practice. Although wide ranging in their praise for Seacole Park, one thing that particularly stands out is that: “Pupils are happy at this school. It is a place where pupils feel they belong.”
