CCS Randall Park Interim Provision

We will open in January 2027, a little later than originally planned

 

We are fully committed to supporting our learners during the interim period.
 

Our Compass Connect Interim Provision offers Local Authorities a flexible, bespoke alternative provision package focused on educational engagement, transition readiness and emotional wellbeing.
 

The provision will be individually commissioned, part-time, regularly reviewed and tailored to each learner’s needs.
 

This ensures appropriate support while our learners await admission to CCS Randall Park (or another suitable educational placement).
 

This provision is not intended to replace school attendance or provide full-time education.

Principles

 

Provide short-term, bespoke support for learners awaiting placement.

 

Maintain engagement with education and learning.

 

Support emotional wellbeing and readiness for school.

 

Reduce placement breakdown and transition difficulties.

 

Operate within all statutory guidance.

 

We want to prepare learners for a successful admission to school – once registration and opening requirements are met.

Commissioning Arrangements

 

This provision is temporary and interim in nature.
Statutory responsibility for securing education remains with the Local Authority and/or the child’s current educational placement.

Compass Connect is delivering interim alternative provision and transition support only.
The learner remains on roll at their existing school wherever possible, or is formally placed through Local Authority alternative provision arrangements.

Available Packages

We have three packages available for commission.

Aim: To maintain engagement in learning and prevent educational disengagement whilst awaiting admission to CCS Randall Park.
 

Activities May Include:

  • One-to-one tuition
  • Small group tuition where appropriate
  • Literacy interventions
  • Numeracy interventions
  • Functional skills development
  • Study skills and learning engagement work
  • Targeted subject support

 
Delivery:

  • Delivered by qualified teachers or appropriately experienced education professionals
  • Flexible and individualised timetable
  • Delivered in community venues, family homes (where appropriate), online or other agreed locations

 
Outcomes:

  • Sustained educational engagement
  • Maintenance of academic skills
  • Increased confidence in learning
  • Preparation for future school attendance

Aim: To support learners who may experience anxiety, disengagement or barriers to accessing education – and prepare them for successful transition into CCS Randall Park.
 

Activities May Include:

  • Relationship building
  • Emotional regulation support
  • School readiness programmes
  • Transition planning
  • Familiarisation activities
  • Community-based learning experiences
  • Independence and social skills development
  • Attendance and engagement support
  • Family liaison and support

 

Outcomes:

  • Improved readiness for school attendance
  • Increased confidence and resilience
  • Reduced anxiety regarding transition
  • Positive engagement with future educational placement

Aim: To provide supportive interventions that enhance wellbeing and reduce barriers to learning.
 

Activities May Include:

  • Emotional wellbeing support
  • Therapeutic interventions
  • Speech and language support
  • Behaviour support
  • Counselling services
  • Occupational therapy-informed strategies

 
Outcomes:

  • Increased emotional regulation and reduced frequency/intensity of dysregulated behaviours.
  • Improved ability to recognise, express and manage emotions using appropriate, taught strategies.
  • Enhanced sense of safety, trust, and engagement within a consistent, trauma-informed environment.
  • Development of positive relationships and social communication skills with adults and peers.
  • Greater resilience and independence in managing everyday challenges, supporting readiness for learning.

Individualised Delivery Model

 
Each learner will receive a bespoke package based on:

  • Identified needs
  • Current educational arrangements
  • Risk assessments
  • Professional recommendations
  • Local Authority requirements

 

No learner will receive the same package as another learner.
 
The level of support commissioned will vary according to individual circumstances.

Duration of Provision

 
Compass Connect Interim Provision is intended as a temporary arrangement only.
 
The provision will cease when:

  • CCS Randall Park becomes operational and the learner transitions successfully.
  • An alternative educational placement is secured.
  • The Local Authority determines the provision is no longer required.
  • Review processes identify that a different intervention is necessary.

Governance and Quality Assurance

 
Compass Connect will maintain robust safeguarding arrangements in line with the service it is providing. However, any child receiving this support would, where appropriate, remain on roll at their current school, or otherwise under the statutory responsibility of the Local Authority.

Monitor outcomes

Maintain regular communication with commissioning Local Authorities
Ensure all provision remains within the scope of alternative provision and transition support

 
Compass Connect will continually review delivery arrangements to ensure compliance with relevant statutory guidance and regulatory requirements.
