Rebecca is a fully qualified teacher with over 20 years’ experience. Rebecca has worked in mainstream and SEND, she is a specialist in supporting children presenting with social, emotional and mental health difficulties to access education successfully. Rebecca has worked in a wide range of roles across education as a teacher, advisory teacher to mainstream, SENCo and headteacher. Within her current role as executive head teacher, Rebecca oversees Compass Community Schools and a national education service which supports looked after children to access education provision.
Regional Head Teacher (DDSL, SENCo)
Kit has been working with vulnerable children for over 15 years, initially as a sports and outdoor instructor in city schools. He started his teaching career in mainstream but soon found himself working extensively with marginalised students and those with SEND and social inclusion issues, helping them overcome barriers to learning and develop self-esteem and self-regulation by placing the child at the heart of the decision making process. He has worked with Compass Community Schools as a Teacher, Lead Teacher and Regional Head Teacher, DSL and SENCo and has a broad experience in securing positive outcomes for children with a wide range of challenging and disturbing behaviours and SEMH concerns. Kit has lead the therapeutic education in several PSB specialist schools and has undertaken the Mentor Forensics Professional Development Award, interpreting behaviours in order to manage risk and inform sensitive decision-making on a daily basis. Lead Teacher (DSL)
I joined the Royal Navy straight from leaving school and after serving in both the Gulf war and Bosnian conflict left to start a family. After moving to Hereford with my family and whilst working as a postman I completed a 6-year Astrophysics degree with the Open University. Since graduation, I have moved into education, first as a science teacher and now as Lead Teacher. Since working within a SEMH school setting, I find that my passion for bringing lesson plans to life from beyond the pages of textbooks whilst fostering a love of learning, along with supporting young people to grow socially and emotionally has enabled me to make a difference to young people in our care. Although challenging work, I find the satisfaction in helping young people to grow and achieve beyond where they thought their limits were so rewarding.
Higher Level Teaching Assistant
I have been teaching for 2 years in Poland, before I came to the United Kingdom, I started to work in Senoble UK company as a Finance Assistant, during the 12 years I gained QTS status (2012) and was able to do more courses (Adults Maths – 2 Entry, 3 Entry). I have volunteered in Christopher Whitehead College in Worcester and really enjoyed working in the PE Department. I was able to do TA course and then train as a HLTA, as I was really missing teaching and working in a school. I joined CCSS in 2019 and am now teaching ASDAN subjects andFunctional Skills Maths.
I have six children, and have been managing several house renovations and helping to run family businesses. I have done lots of voluntary work in my children’s schools over the years and I now work as a Teaching Assistant in Pear Tree School. I love family walks with the dog and playing pool.
