Rebecca is a fully qualified teacher with over 25 years’ experience. Rebecca has worked in mainstream and SEND, she is a specialist in supporting children presenting with social, emotional and mental health difficulties to access education successfully. Rebecca has worked in a wide range of roles across education as a teacher, advisory teacher to mainstream, SENCo and headteacher. Within her current role as executive head teacher, Rebecca oversees Compass Community Schools and a national education service which supports looked after children to access education provision.

I have been teaching for 20 years and have spent a considerable amount of my career in inner-city schools in Manchester, predominantly working as part of the Pastoral team as well as teaching ICT and Business lessons. I have been working with Compass since 2016 and love being part of this exciting and developing service.

I qualified in Technology Education with QTS in 1996 from Leeds University. I have taught Graphics and Resistant Materials for over 20 years in Hull, Leeds and Huddersfield. I joined Compass Childrens homes in March 2019 and now I am Lead Teacher at Compass North.
My name is Tim Pears. I have a degree in Combined Sciences (Biology and Physiology) and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (Secondary Science). I have been teaching science for 30+ years. I have two grown up daughters and two grandsons. My interests are varied and include hill walking, any sport, wildlife watching and travel.
A former assistant Headteacher, Head of year and a head of the Humanities factuality. Now I am a committed member of the Compass Team and Family. I enjoy all sports and follow the imperious Manchester United.
Higher Level Teaching Assistant
After leaving collage with a NVQ qualification in childcare, I worked as a nursery nurse in a private nursery, then I became a private nanny for a professional family looking after their two sons. I then worked in main stream schools as a Teaching Assistant, also a Support Assistant working with children with additional needs. I gained a in NVQ in Teaching Assistant, also completing Makaton courses and BSL courses. I went on to gain a Fountain Degree in health and social care. I then started to work at Compass as a RSW then a SRSW, then moved back into the education sector but still for Compass. My role sees me completing pastoral work, delivering lessons, completing the health and safety aspects of the school. I complete all the personal files for each pupil, I also create each pupil’s risk assessments and keep all relevant in formation up to date. I have been working for Compass for 5 years; I’m currently studying for a NVQ 4 in Higher Level Teaching Assistant.

My name is Debbie Birkhead and I work at Compass Community School in the North as a Learning Support Assistant, where I have worked for nearly 5 years. I have over 2 decades experience of supporting young people in a school environment. I have a grown-up daughter and son and have 5 grandchildren who I love spending my time with. I also enjoy cooking, reading and being out in the countryside walking.
I am a 34 year old former military communication specialist who moved into education to inspire and support young children as they work through the school environment. I enjoy gaming, swimming and writing.
Natalie hold a BSc in Psychology obtained from the University of Chester and a MSc in Forensic Psychology attained from the Manchester Metropolitan University. she has previously volunteered for a mental health charity, which focused on providing support for individuals with a variety of needs including learning difficulties, trauma and personality disorders. Alongside this, Natalie also has experience with her local youth club, providing support and organising activities and events for young people. She has previously been employed within a residential environment for young adults with autism, involving the completion of support plans, risk assessments and partaking in psychological and speech and language therapy sessions.
