At CCS Boleyn Park, primary students recently took part in a learning session designed to develop communication, teamwork and unity.
The interactive session encouraged boys to work in pairs – one describing an image without naming any of the objects, and the other attempting to recreate the drawing based on the description alone.
This seemingly simple challenge proved to be a powerful tool for strengthening bonds within the class, particularly as many of the students are new to the group. Clear communication, careful listening, and collaborative problem-solving were essential, creating a fun and purposeful learning experience.
To reinforce their growing sense of identity and camaraderie, the group also worked together to develop a team name and logo. After a process of negotiation and compromise, the boys proudly adopted a Star Wars-inspired robot as their symbol. The creation of the logo became a valuable exercise in teamwork, with each student contributing ideas and learning to listen and adapt.
The session concluded with the boys collectively designing a picture to describe to their teacher – demonstrating just how far their collaborative skills had come in a short space of time. The activity not only brought the group closer together, but also highlighted their enthusiasm, creativity and willingness to support one another.
Staff agreed that it was a joy to see such energy and investment from the boys – Boleyn Park’s newest class is already showing what it means to work together as a team.
