Earlier this term, learners at CCS Lincolnshire took part in a high-energy beatboxing workshop led by professional artist Mikey Beats. Ranked 16th in the UK Beatboxing Championships, Mikey introduced learners to the rhythms, sounds and techniques behind this impressive vocal artform.
After a live demonstration, learners were invited to give it a go themselvesâexperimenting with tempo, tone and coordination. The room quickly filled with energy, as learners joined in, supported each other and embraced the challenge with growing confidence.
The session offered a fresh and engaging way for learners to get creative. It encouraged them to try something new, build confidence and express themselves in a different way. Staff noted how focused and enthusiastic learners were throughoutâand how willing they were to keep going until they got the hang of it.
The day was a clear success. The beatboxing session gave learners the chance to try something differentâwith all of them feeling pleased with what theyâd managed to do. The learners have already asked for Mikey Beats to come back, and plans are in place to welcome him again in the new year. Thanks Mikey!
