🌟 WOW Moments Every Day at CCS Eld Park

At CCS Eld Park, school is a place where learners feel excited to be—and WOW time plays a big part in that.

WOW time takes place at the end of each school day, and it’s something learners genuinely look forward to. It’s a chance to enjoy something they’ve chosen for themselves, as a result of the positive behaviours and effort they’ve shown throughout the day. Each learner can earn up to 20 minutes of WOW time, which helps build motivation and pride in their achievements.

Some learners choose to spend this time on the computer, printing their favourite characters or exploring creative apps. Others enjoy cooking, heading outdoors, or getting involved in the forest area. This week, one learner chose to go litter picking as part of her progress towards a school community certificate. Another has been working towards a kindness award, helping his classmates and looking for ways to be a good friend.

Reflection is also part of the process. Learners are encouraged to think about the actions and choices that helped them earn their WOW time—and what they might want to do differently next time. It’s a calm and thoughtful end to the school day, helping children take ownership of their learning and behaviour.

WOW time isn’t the only highlight at Eld Park. Learners regularly talk about the activities and experiences they enjoy across the week. “PSHE is the best—Nancy feeds me lots of brain juice!” said one. Another shared, “I feel like a real chef when I’m cooking.” Trips, forest sessions and creative subjects are popular too. “I enjoy the trips,” said one learner. Another added, “I like running around in the forest.”
