At CCS Eld Park, displays of work are part of daily school life. They reflect learner voice, creative expression and a growing sense of pride across the community.
Across classrooms and corridors, vibrant artwork and thoughtful messages show the care learners take in what they create. One striking display draws on the work of Wassily Kandinsky. Learners explored colour, shape and feelingāexperimenting with collage and composition to produce bold, individual pieces. Alongside this, nature-inspired creations have added texture and detail to shared spaces, from carefully balanced stick sculptures to close-up studies of bark and wildlife .
These displays make learning visible. They help learners see their effort recognised and their ideas taken seriously.
The response from families has been heartfelt. One parent shared: āHe really likes the school and he really likes all of the staff. I hear only positive things about school life. He is really thriving and heās really come out of his shell again.ā
Another reflected on the first week: āHe has really enjoyed itā¦this is the best school ever. Most importantly, he is happy at school and is looking forward to going this weekāwhich I havenāt seen in him for a very long time.ā
Learners speak with the same warmth. āI feel emotionally supported knowing that any teacher I talk to knows me,ā one explained. āThey interact like a friend, while still being professional and having my best interests in mind.ā
This sense of belonging extends beyond the classroom. Friday enrichment sessions have included nature art, stop-motion animation and a performance from learner-led band Old Skool. These shared experiences sit comfortably alongside academic learning, strengthening relationships and confidence .
At Eld Park, each display tells a story. Of effort. Of encouragement. Of learners beginning to feel secure enough to try, create and share. The walls change as projects move on, but the message remains steady: this is a place where young people are known, supported and quietly moving forward.
