Since joining CCS Essex in September, Year 8 learner M-R has impressed everyone with her talent and determination in martial arts. Having already represented her club, county and country, she continues to climb the ranks in both kata and kumite.
Earlier this month, M-R travelled to Sheffield to take part in the British Karate Championships. Competing in the 12–13 age category—which she has only just moved into—she became British Champion in kata and secured an impressive third place in kumite.
Her success hasn’t gone unnoticed, and she’ll soon be back in action. At the end of this month, M-R is set to compete in Luxembourg, in the 12 – 13 category. This is in both kata and kumite, representing her club, Links Karate, on an international stage.
Her progress is the result of focus, consistency and a clear love of her sport. Everyone at CCS Essex is incredibly proud of what she’s achieved so far—and we’ll be cheering her on as she competes once again, this time in Europe.
