🚌 A Brilliant Start to the School Year at Eld Park

CCS Eld Park has had a fantastic start to the new academic year, with learners returning full of energy and enthusiasm—and several new faces settling in well. The school is already buzzing with learning, creativity and connection.

In the first few weeks, learners completed baseline assessments and got stuck into practical lessons across the curriculum. In Acorns class, Design & Technology sessions have seen learners building catapults and racing to construct the tallest tower from straws—an exciting way to develop their engineering and teamwork skills.

Friday enrichment sessions are in full swing, offering something for everyone. Learners can now explore a range of creative and hands-on options, including cooking, electronics, Lego, child development, game café and nature art in the forest.

This year, Eld Park has introduced a full day of forest school to the timetable, giving each key stage a double lesson to enjoy the natural environment. These sessions offer valuable time to explore, socialise or relax in the school’s beautiful outdoor space.

There has already been a small but joyful potato harvest, and despite the challenges of a dry summer, the learners have also discovered some unusually shaped tomatoes—an unexpected bonus in their journey of learning how to nurture plants.

Eld Park continues to provide a warm, safe and supportive environment where learners can succeed through both structure and creativity. The school’s flexible, trauma-informed approach means every learner can access the curriculum in a way that suits them.
