🎒 Looking Forward to the New School Year

Looking forward to the new school year? Everyone enjoys the holidays—but it’s also great to get going again! To help get you back in the mood to return, here are just a few of the highlights from last year.

It was a year packed with variety and energy. Learners across Compass schools tried their hand at new sports, headed outdoors for adventures, and joined in with community projects that made a real difference. There were celebrations that filled schools with colour and laughter, and special events where families could meet teachers, share successes and look ahead to what’s next. Creative workshops, themed learning weeks and trips to fascinating places all helped spark curiosity and build confidence along the way.

As the new year rolled in, the pace didn’t slow. There were projects that got everyone working together—thinking creatively, solving problems, and learning from each other. Outdoor activities encouraged exploration, while visiting experts brought fresh ideas and experiences straight into the classroom. Reward trips gave learners something to aim for—and themed days, like reading celebrations, turned ordinary lessons into something unforgettable.

By summer, the sunshine had everyone heading outside for even more active challenges. Learners tackled environmental projects, took part in exciting science experiments, and threw themselves into sports and creative arts. Trips out into the wider world brought lessons to life, and many learners pushed themselves to achieve personal goals they could feel proud of. The year ended on a high, with celebrations that mixed reflection, fun and plenty of smiles.

Now September is approaching, there’s a lot to look forward to: Catching up with friends, swapping summer stories, and diving into new topics. There’ll be clubs to join, trips to enjoy, and chances to learn new skills—whether on the pitch, in the arts, or in the classroom. Another year of Compass Community School life is ready to begin—and it’s shaping up to be every bit as exciting as the last!
