🌳 Outdoor Learning Flourishes at CCS Eld Park

Students at CCS Eld Park have been learning and growing through a highly engaging range of Forest School sessions.

Delivered in the school’s outdoor space, these sessions have offered pupils the chance to explore nature while developing practical skills and teamwork. Activities have included planting fruits and vegetables, building a swing, and using ratchets to put up a zip line to balance across. Each task was designed to encourage curiosity, collaboration and resilience.

Pupils have also sculpted expressive clay faces on trees and helped dig and rake the fire pit area in preparation for future group activities. Throughout the term, students have played an active role in shaping the Forest School site, suggesting ideas and taking responsibility for its development.

Lucy Holman, an HLTA at Eld Park, has been supporting the sessions and is enthusiastic about the impact they’re having. “It’s brilliant to hear their ideas and see how much pride they take in the space,” she said.

Forest School at CCS Eld Park is proving to be a powerful extension of classroom learning – nurturing independence, self-confidence and a deeper connection to the natural world. With pupils leading the way, the outdoor area is fast becoming a vibrant and inspiring place to grow.
